Frequently Asked Questions

How do I contact you?

By email or telephone ... details on the contact page.

What experience do you have?

I began working as an individual counsellor in 2005 and qualified in 2007, I also worked as a Therapeutic Group Facilitator for two years.

I have volunteered as a counsellor with The Hungerford Drug Project in Soho and I worked as a volunteer counsellor for the Terrence Higgins Trust for two years.

I have run many themed Therapeutic Groups including disordered eating, Bereavement, Well Being, Drugs and Alcohol to name a few.

Are you accredited to a professional organisation?

Yes. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have been a member since 2005.

Do you subscribe to a code of professional ethics?

My therapeutic work is conducted in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.

Do you receive regular supervision?

Yes.

Can I refer myself?

Yes you can. Sometimes people are referred by their family doctor.

What about confidentiality?

Our work is confidential. In exceptional cases, (e.g. if a client reveals current abuse of children or intention to cause serious physical harm to him/herself or others), counsellors have a professional and ethical duty to inform clients that they may find it necessary to take this information outside of counselling.

For this reason, I normally request the name and address of your General Practitioner. Any action is discussed with you first.
